The folks over at Nintendo have just announced that Mario Kart for the Wii will release in the United States on April 27th. The game comes packaged with the Wii Wheel which "makes it easy for novices to compete against veterans." More details inside...
“Mario Kart Wii transforms one of our most popular franchises into a race that every member of the family can join,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Driving with the Wii Wheel could not be more natural, and this is one place where speeding is encouraged.”
The game will allow for up to 11 players to compete online via a broadband hookup to Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. The game will also feature 32 tracks, 16 new and 16 from previous games in the series along with 10 battle arenas. Also, players will now have the option to race either the traditional karts or the newly added motorbikes for even more excitement.
The game also adds a new channel to the main Wii menu, the Mario Kart Wii Channel.
"This new channel builds on the huge online community of Wii owners and lets players compete in tournaments, check worldwide rankings, see when their friends are playing and download ghost data."
