Outrun Online Arcade Coming to XBLA & PSN

Sega, via Sumo Digital, is set to bring Outrun Online Arcade to the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network in early 2009. From the steep streets of San Francisco to the beautiful beaches of California, it’s mile after mile of unrelenting acceleration, thrills and action. Sonic & The Black Knight Announced

The next chapter of the Sonic storybook series has been announced by Sega. Sonic & The Black Knight will be exclusive to the Wii and be a sequel to the previous Sonic & The Secret Rings. Here is a piece of the official announcement : "Created by Sonic Team in Japan, this innovative game takes Sonic into a medieval world and arms him with a sword to aid in his effort to save the day. Sonic and the Black Knight hosts an irresistible cast of characters and will teach Sonic fans what it takes to be a true hero and the ultimate knight. “Sonic and the Black Knight is a stunning adventure into an epic land and story that no gamer can resist,” said Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. “Gamers will experience all the excitement of mastering a sword and true knighthood, as well as the classic, speedy, 2D/3D gaming action that Sonic is famous for.”" The latest issue of Nintendo Power features the first look at the new game.

Apple Announces the iPhone 3G and the App Store

Today at the WWDC developer event, Apple revealed a new iPhone, the 3G iPhone. It will be available in two models, the $199 8GB model and the $299 16GB. The new iPhone will be available on July 11. You can watch the new ad here . Apple also announced the opening of the App Store in early July. Want games on the iPhone? Well, you're in luck. Sega's Super Monkey Ball will be available upon the stores launch as well as two games from Pangea Software, Enigmo and Cro-Mag Rally. These titles can be yours for $9.99 each. What if you already own an iPhone? No worries, a free update will make the App Store available to you. Unfortunately, iTouch users must pay $9.95 for the update.

Sonic Unleashed in the Works from Sega?

A new video has been making its way around the internet the past few days of what looks to be footage of a new (old-school style) sonic game. While details remain sketchy of the games confirmation, release date, and system, be assured this footage looks legit. Here are some of the details from Sega Magazine, which for now are still considered rumors. "Sonic the Hedgehog returns for a full-blown, action-packed adventure through the desolate and unpredictable World of Mubuz, a world dictated by an evil Dragon Lord, Immarius. Upon entering Muboz, Sonic fights an evil power which turns all the inhabitants into dangerous beasts. * Become Wolf Sonic and fight enemies like never before using rapid combo maneuvers and Ring Energy * Play as Sonic, Knuckles or Tails through 12 packed stages * Extensive 2D gameplay brings the old Sonic back home" Source: Sega Magazine
