Ubisoft has announced today that DLC for Far Cry 2 will be hitting the Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Store by the end of November. The "Fortune's Pack" DLC will be bringing new vehicles and weapons to the game for both the single and multiplayer modes. See the images below. You saw the fancy European Far Cry 2 collector's edition we showed last week, now it has been announced that the U.S. will get a GameStop exclusive pre-order edition of the game. Our friends over in the UK finally get something announced first. Ubisoft has just released details of the Far Cry 2 collector's edition that will launch in the UK on October 24th. No word on whether the United States will get the same collector's edition or one at all so stay tuned. Have you seen the peaceful animals in Far Cry 2 and just wished a lion would pop out of the brush and maul one? Well according to videogaming247 , developer, Patrick Redding, says they are considering adding in predatory animals after the game launches. Other then the possibilty, Redding didn't say much more as to not spoil any suprises. Early in the design process of Far Cry 2, predators were ruled out because of the complexity of the AI. Hopefully they will be able to get them to work well in the game because it would make things even more exciting. Keep an eye out for Far Cry 2 when it launches later this year for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

If you plan to get Far Cry 2 on PC and you pre-order through Ubisoft's Online Store within the next three days you will get the original Far Cry for PC free! Following the success of the level editor in the first console Far Cry games, people wondered if the console versions of Far Cry 2 would get a level editor too. Good news, IGN has a video from GC 2008 showing off the level editor for console versions. It looks like you can build a decent size map. Check it out for yourself.

Fresh from France is a new trailer for Ubisoft's upcoming shooter Far Cry 2. The video features information on one of the villains of the game named "The Jackal." Also found in the video is a link to a blog by Reuben Monday-Oluwagembi who is credited to be a "a freelance correspondent reporting from Port Selao." Ubisoft's Ubidays are just beginning to get underway in Paris where we can expect more information and videos of upcoming Ubisoft games over the course of the two day event.
