PSU.com has uncovered a bit of interesting information regarding the beta for Call of Duty: World at War, apparently it will be run on PC and Xbox 360 only. PSU contacted Activision and Treyarch and they said the following: ""We are running the beta only on the Xbox 360 and PC," said the representative. He continued then to point out that most betas on the PS3 are run by first party anyways, and if Treyarch runs their testing on the Xbox 360 and PC they acquire more data on servers and connectivity." So whether this means the PS3 version is already good to go, or that they are behind schedule on it we won't really know. Those of you PS3 owners looking forward to the beta need to find a friend with a PC or 360 quick.

Call of Duty's official site has just announced that the latest game in the series, World at War, will have a beta coming sometime in October. The catch? The beta is only for 360 and PC, PS3 owners are snubbed from enjoying pacific-based action.  To enter the beta simply pre-order the game at any GameStop. If you don't feel like reserving the game you can also enter to win a beta code for free on CallofDuty.com . " Boot camp will soon take on a new meaning, with multiplayer BETA’s coming in October for both the Xbox 360 and PC! These MP BETA’s will serve as an early chance for players to practice the tactics needed for survival in the intense chaos of Call of Duty: World at War.  Through the MP BETA players will experience the game’s new squad system, as well as fan favorite PERKS and kill streaks – all preparation for the full battle, which will commence on November 11, 2008 when Call of Duty: World at War is released to retailers nationwide "

UPDATE: Some new information and screenshots have been released by Treyarch, check out the new information below and the screens and video after the jump! A few more details have emerged about the COD: WaW campaign. The game will take place both in the pacific and Europe and will also have the player fight as not only the Americans, but the Russians as well. Also, four player jump in-jump out co-op has been added to the mix.
