Sony has announced that EA Sports is coming to the Playstation Home beta this spring. The EA Sports Complex and will feature exclusive EA Sports multiplayer games, leaderboards, and trailers for upcoming games. News out of the Playstation Blog today, content for Home will be releasing later this week. First up is a Red Bull space. In this area (accessed through your PDS/Map) will be able to compete in various themed events. This week's event lets you hop in a Red Bull air race plane and compete against other users. Secondly, some new clothing will be added to the mall. Diesel and Ligne Roset will now have their own stores in the mall and a few cool Resident Evil t-shirts will be available. Those who pre-order Killzone 2 from Amazon will get a code to unlock Killzone outfits for your avatar.

Sony has announced Home will launch in America and Europe tomorrow, December 11. The service will be free to download and launches from the Playstation 3's cross media bar (XMB). Although the service itself is free, there will be microtransactions for things such as clothing and furniture. American PS3 owners will have the chance to visit the virtual environments from Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Far Cry 2. Virtual environments for Resistance, Warhawk, Guitar Hero and SOCOM will come later. No work on when these will be avaible for European users. Playstation Blog has updated news on the closed beta for Playstation home. There is a chance for each and every one of you to get into the beta, and here is how; "Later today, the PLAYSTATION Store will be updated with a PlayStation Home theme. By downloading the theme, users are submitting an application to join the PlayStation Home Beta test community. We will be using a variety of criteria including activity on the PLAYSTATION Network to determine eligibility for the Beta community. Existing beta testers have automatically qualified to be part of the expanded beta. We’re really excited about this milestone and want our most loyal fans to be a part of the evolution of PlayStation Home. In Europe, SCEE is also beginning their expanded closed beta, directly targeting consumers who have been most active on PLAYSTATION Network and PLAYSTATION Store.
