Starbreeze Studios has been working on a remake of Riddick: Escape from Butcher's Bay for some time now. They have been through some uncertainties until recently being snapped up by Atari. So how is the project doing? It just so happens the team at Starbreeze Studios have went well beyond the content of Butcher's Bay. In fact, according to reports, the game has been given an entirely new 10+ hours campaign with all new game mechanics. So, you wont only be getting the original game remade in full HD glory but an all new campaign. Check out the new screens below. UPDATE: Rumor mash this morning, Kotaku has received word from Valve's Doug Lombardi stating that; "There is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead currently in production." There you have it, nail in the coffin (for now). Seeing how Valve (read Gabe Newell) does not show the PS3 much love, you would think Left 4 Dead for the PS3 would be, well, dead. But, Playstation Magazine says otherwise. One of the blurbs reads "Valve's survival horror game Left 4 Dead is coming to PS3, but EA will be taking on the development duties in-house." Sony fans will have the chance to get a demo of Final Fantasy XIII. How you ask. The demo will be bonus content on the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete Blu-ray disc which is scheduled to release in Japan in March of 2009. There has been no U.S. date announced at this time. In other Sony news, Sony announced their new service, Life with Playstation, is not ready to release. Do not worry though, Sony says it will be released later this month. It looks like the storage of the Xbox 360 disc may be becoming a problem. John Carmack of id Software is working on a game called Rage, which will be released on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Mac. Carmack says the Xbox 360 version will look the worse due to limitations on storage. Apparently the royalty fees to include three discs are too high. EA and DC comics have teamed up to create a limited edition prequel comic for DICE's upcoming free running Mirror's Edge. The first issue, as well as the game demo, will be shown at Comic-Con in San Diego. “This partnership with DC Comics sets the stage as readers explore Faith’s world in Mirror’s Edge,” said Owen O’Brien, Senior Producer, DICE. “The unique graphic style offered by the comic book genre is perfect for taking fans through her back-story. Frame by frame, page by page, we’ll learn more about the events that shaped both her and the city.” No word yet on how gamers can get their hands on the comic, other than traveling to Comic-Con in San Diego. The newest issue of Playstation Magazine (July 08, issue 008) contains a review for the upcoming Metal gear Solid 4. The magazine gave the game the highest mark of 5 stars and an editor's choice. You can get the magazine in newsstands now, i'll leave you with this quote from the review to get your mind going... "MGS4 is special in so many ways that I suspect it will reside among the videogame industry's greatest achievements long after we're dust." Now that  is a quote! Fresh from France is a new trailer for Ubisoft's upcoming shooter Far Cry 2. The video features information on one of the villains of the game named "The Jackal." Also found in the video is a link to a blog by Reuben Monday-Oluwagembi who is credited to be a "a freelance correspondent reporting from Port Selao." Ubisoft's Ubidays are just beginning to get underway in Paris where we can expect more information and videos of upcoming Ubisoft games over the course of the two day event. Did you also do a double-take? Let me clarify, that is not 90 minutes of cut scenes in the entire game, that is 90 minute separate cut scenes within the game. The story of the Metal Gear series is one that cannot simply be entirely told through gameplay, so it is necessary to add longer cut scenes, but the 90 minute length is something we have yet to see in any major video game. CVG reports that PSW Magazine played through and completed MGS4 and told of the 90 minute scenes. According to CVG, PSW Magazine stated " "MGS4's story is massive. The videogame equivalent of all three Godfather movies on one disc." They also state "They [cut scenes] can be skipped, but you'll be missing out on some of the finely crafted examples of FMV footage anywhere in gaming." CVG Article

The latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, arriving to subscribers now and on newsstands June 3rd, finally has the official word about the 2007 Game of the year Bioshock making its way to the PS3. According to the EGM article, 2k Games has confirmed that the game is making the transition to the Playstation with a few extra goodies including a graphics tweak. The latest trailer to "The Bourne Conspiracy," which is based on the Bourne movies and books, hit IGN's Voodoo Extreme today, hit the jump for the video. The game is starting to look like a, dare I say, good movie game. This is most likely because it is based on the books more than the movie and has a great combat system.
