EA Announces New Need for Speed Games for 2009

Just when we thought it may be on the way out, EA confirms work on three new Need for Speed games for 2009. Speaking to Eurogamer EA confirmed that the NfS franchise will continue in 2009 with Need for Speed: Shift on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC, and PSP, Need for Speed: Nitro on Nintendo DS and Wii, and finally Need for Speed: World Online for the Asian PC market. "Need for Speed: Shift will be made by Slightly Mad Studios of GT Legends and GTR 2 fame, with help from EA Black Box producer Michael Mann and EA Games Europe bigwig Patrick Soderlund. Shift focuses on simulation racing - not just the realistic movement of cars, but also driver behaviour." Nitro will be developed by EA Montreal and will be an arcade racer with a focus on "vibrant, eye-catching visuals." World Online will be developed by Black Box and has the possibility of launching in the west if it does well in the Asian market. It will let you pick your car and "take on the rest of the world....

New Spore Titles Announced for Wii, DS, PC

We knew a Spore game for the Wii was coming, we just didn't know when. In a press release detailing some of their 2009 line-up Electronic Arts announced Spore Hero for the Nintendo Wii. Also in the release the first real expansion to the PC Spore was detailed, it is entitled Spore Galactic Adventures. "Spore Galactic Adventures adds a tremendous amount of variety and depth to the original “space game” in Spore, allowing players to beam down to planets, play mission-based adventures and even create their own customized adventures for the first time. Each adventure has a unique reward to upgrade a space creature with special accessories – from an Energy Blade and Stunning Charm to a Jump Jet and more. Players can fight their way to victory as a Warrior, dance with new friends as a Bard, and much more." Eidos and Io Interactive Announce Mini Ninjas

Eidos and Io Interactive have announced Mini Ninjas for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and PC. The folks who brought you Kane & Lynch as well as Agent 47 now bring a bit softer game coming this fall. "Prepare yourself for a Ninja adventure like you have never seen before! EA Announces New MySims Games for Wii, DS

EA has announced two new MySims games for the Nintendo Wii and DS coming in 2009. The first is MySims Racing which allows you to race on various exotic levels and defeat enemies by using power-ups. There is extensive customization in MySims Racing as well, allowing you to change paint jobs, swap out body parts, and add tons of accessories. The game will also allow you to play with up to 3 of your friends over Wifi on the Wii and DS. Second is MySims Party. Party offers 50 mini games (DS will have 40 mini games) for you and your friends to compete in. Games like Snowboarding, Robo Assault, and DJ Candy will be hosted by different Sims and be playable right in sequence or in themed festivals like food, music, or sports. “When we created the MySims world, we believed that the MySims characters could be part of a variety of different gaming experiences. X-Men Origins: Wolverine Being Readied for May Release

To compliment the new movie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" from 20th Century Fox, Activision has released new details on the game that will launch this May along side the movie. The game is being developed by Raven Software and will release on almost every system known to man (360, Ps3, Wii, DS, PC, PSP, and PS2. Bits and Pieces

Hello and happy Friday to everyone. There hasn't been much news the last few days so the site has been a bit slow. I wanted to take the time today to update you on the few bits of news that did come out over the past two days. First, just a reminder to everyone that Call of Duty: World At War premieres tomorrow with a trailer exclusively on the Xbox Live Marketplace (and soon to YouTube). Next up, The Playstation Experience is making its way around the country over the upcoming weeks giving people everywhere a chance to play quite a few games, including Little Big Planet, in a giant semi truck loaded with Playstations and HD Televisions. For those of you who have not quite gotten into the Guitar Hero/music game genre you now have yet another chance.
