NXE: A Look at the Xbox.com Marketplace

Image
As many of you may know, along with the New Xbox Expereince coming November 19th, a version of the Marketplace will be available through Xbox.com. You will be able to queue items for download on your 360 from your PC wherever you are at. Gamerscore Blog has more information on what to expect from the Xbox.com Marketplace. "Once the New Xbox Experience launches you will be able to browse Xbox LIVE Marketplace on your PC (even using text search) – and if you see something you like, you can add it to your queue and even purchase it right there and then. As soon as you get back home to your Xbox 360 and turn it on, the content will begin to download. Think about it – by the time you finish getting out of your shirt and tie, or skirt, or pajamas, or pink fuzzy bunny outfit, you will have a new Xbox LIVE Arcade game to play or a new TV show to watch."

New Xbox Experience: Part One

Image
Gamerscore Blog has the first of a series of posts detailing the new Xbox experience coming this Fall. Part one of the updates shows off how the "games played" area will look on the new dashboard.  " The first card shows all of the Achievements you’ve unlocked and lists out your overall Gamerscore and the highest possible Gamerscore you could have based on the games you’ve played. To the right of that every game you’ve played will have its own card that fans out. If you’ve played 3 games (like this account has), you will have 3 cards. 500 games? All 500 will fan out on your screen. You can check out what Achievements you’ve unlocked per game and what you have left to work on." That is a lot of games on the screen! Look for more information on the NXE as it is released.

Rumor Mill: Microsoft Planning Huge 360 Re-Launch for NXE

File this in the huge, most likely not true but very cool, section of the rumor mill. User Dodece from the VGChartz forums states that: " September 25th 7pm EST. Microsoft will start a five hour countdown to relaunch their console. Yes that is right nothing short of a relaunch is acceptable. At the end of the five hours your console will update to the new interface with full functionality. To promote this most historic event with a full fledged media blitz. Microsoft has gone so far as to rent television space as in rent a channel. For those five hours G4 television will cover the event exclusively with live coverage. For those with Live they will be able to download or stream the channel." Not only a 5 hour re-launch event, but there is much more. Also according to Dodece there will be three new channels launched, the first a partnership with Sirius radio which allows users, for a small fee payable with Microsoft points, to stream Sirius radio through their 360. Next a musi...
