EA Confirms Mass Effect 2, Battlefield: Bad Company Sequel

Those of you who loved Bioware’s action-RPG Mass Effect and DICE’s newest installment to the Battlefield series Bad Company will be happy with the news that turned up today. In a recent financial earnings call EA CEO John Riccitiello divulged that Mass Effect 2 would make it’s debut on “multiple consoles” and that there is a sequel to Battlefield: Bad Company in the pipes for Q4 of fiscal 2010 (January-March 2010). This is all the information that is known at the present time, but stay tuned for more on these games.

Rumor: Mass Effect 2 Disc Re-Release Coming Feb. 10

GameStop.com has a new listing for a Mass Effect 2 disc re-release set to launch February 10th. The edition's 2nd disc is said to contain documentaries, trailers, music, design galleries and the "Bring Down the Sky" DLC. This fine game and bonus extras can be yours for $19.99. This is a great deal for anyone that has not picked up or played the game yet, and a decent deal for those wanting to trade in their old copy and get the bonus items and DLC. Mass Effect "Bring Down The Sky" Now Available for PC

The first DLC from the PC version of Mass Effect was released today; PC gamers can download the "Bring Down the Sky" DLC free of charge. "Fully optimized for the PC, “Bring Down the Sky” is the first in a series of planned downloadable content that will further expand the Mass Effect story and universe. It includes a new uncharted world that introduces the deadly Batarian alien race, approximately 90 minutes of new gameplay and an original soundtrack. Bioware: Mass Effect Trilogy Exclusive to Xbox 360

UPDATE: Joystiq got in contact with Bioware and cleared up these rumors: "Speaking to Joystiq, a BioWare representative deemed the information "incorrect," noting that Muzyka has "never confirmed any plans of Mass Effect exclusivity for the trilogy." So ... there is a trilogy, right?" So it looks as if this rumor has been debunked...for now. N4G picked up on a story in the latest issue of Australian 360 with a quote from Bioware CEO Ray Muzyka who states that Bioware has an obligation "to bring the Mass Effect trilogy exclusively to the Xbox 360." Muzyka goes on to say that "we said we were committed to supporting Mass Effect as a franchise and have the trilogy on the Xbox 360, and that's still our goal," and follows with "we're always very ambitious in our goals and the most important thing is quality, so we're never going to compromise that."
