Bungie has unveiled more screens from two of the maps coming next spring in the Mythic Map Pack for Halo 3. Orbital and Assembly are shown below, the map pack will be out around the launch of Halo Wars. Visit Bungie's site for more pics. Assembly Orbital

Not very exciting news, but news nonetheless. Bungie has announced that their stand-alone campaign expansion to Halo 3 will no longer be referred to as Halo 3: Recon and will be called Halo 3: ODST. For those of you unfamiliar with the Halo universe ODST stands for Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. "This special forces branch of the UNSC military force is called into action for highly specialized, small scale operations." That is all for now, carry on.

As we reported a while back, new achievements are coming to Halo 3. The first set of achievements are set to launch at 2am tomorrow (Tuesday) morning with Auto Update 2. This will give you the first 250 out of 750, the final 500 to come with the Mythic map pack. As you can see by the images, the achievements are now shouwing up on Xbox.com profiles. Also you can see that the other 500 GS contains some information on the Mythic Map pack. Listed maps are Assembly, Citadel, Heretic, Orbital, Longshore, and Sandbox. No word on what exactly these maps are or when they are coming, stay tuned for more information. UPDATE 2: Well we finally have a bit of official confirmation. In Bungie's weekly update they unveiled the first set of new achievements that will go live when auto update 2 hits which will be "a bit closer to the Halo 3 one year anneversary." Assembly is the map formerly known as "Purple Reign" and is a medium-sized covenant themed map. More to come when information is available.

Recently, games magazine Edge awarded Bungie's extremely popular game, Halo 3, with the Edge Award for Interactive Innovation at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival. Halo 3 managed to beat GTA IV, Portal, Rock Band, Super Mario Galaxy and Wii Sports for the award. Whether or not you agree with their decision is not the point. The big news comes from what happened after Edge gave the award. In Bungie's appreciation, they released a new video which shows some features not supported in Halo 3 at this time. What could all this mean? We'll leave you with the video below to make your own speculation. Enjoy!

With all the Fable 2 limited edition announcements today, there is a good chance people are excited. Well, here is another reason for you to plunk down an extra $20 on the limited edition. Bungie's Lukems and Shishka were on hand at MLG's latest event in San Diego to show support and give a special surprise. The Halo 3 map Cold Storage was unveiled as a successor to Halo 1's Chill Out. Bungie is all set to release the Legendary Map pack for Halo 3. The Legendary pack is the second map pack for the game and will be available on April 15th. Today Bungie Studios showed off the first of the new maps from the next pack due out later this spring.
