Duke 3D for XBLA to Have Saved Films, Rewind

Coming "sometime in September" the Xbox Live Arcade adaptation of Duke Nukem 3D just got a bit more interesting. On top of the already added co-op and multiplayer, Duke 3D will feature a rewind function (think Braid but not to that extent) and a saved films feature (think Halo 3, but not to that extent).

These are two interesting adds, it is great that the team has added so much more to the classic game. Stay tuned to GPU for the official release date when it is announced.

Duke Nukem 3D for XBLA is Finished, Achievements Unlocked

A post on 3D Realms' site states that Duke Nukem 3D for the Xbox Live Arcade is finished and has completed Microsoft testing and certification.

"As has been reported around the net today, we can confirm that the game has indeed passed final certification with Microsoft on Friday the 15th of August (on our first try, no less). That means the game is done - it is now in the hands of Microsoft. At this time we cannot give you details on release date or points cost, as we do not have that information. There's plenty of really cool stuff in this new update to a classic title. While we're not quite ready to divulge everything yet, we can tell you this."

They also mention that there will be a preview of the game in the upcoming Official Xbox Magazine hitting newsstands August 26th.

After being confirmed earlier this year, Duke Nukem 3d looks close to completion in a few recent snapshots of the game's information on the dashboard. The images show finished achievement screens, a placeholder price of 1337 points, and an overall felling of greatness. No official word on when the game will hit the arcade, but I would guess we will find out at E3. Hit the jump for the images.
