Criterion Unveils Legendary Car Pack for Burnout Paradise

Criterion just keeps the DLC coming for Burnout Paradise. Just announce, the next pack from the developer will be the Legendary Car Pack. This pack features 4 cars from various media that have made themselves known and become legendary.

The first is the 88 special, or better known to fans of Back to the Future as the time traveling DeLorean. As you can see, this car hovers so it will be very interesting to try it out. Second is another monumental movie car. Criterion calls it the Manhattan Spirit, but it is better known in the company of the Ghostbusters as the Ecto-1.























Third is the Carson Nighthawk, or what resembles Kip from Knightrider. Finally we have the Cavalry Bootlegger. Hit L3 (PS3) and you will hear the one of a kind horn that tells you this is none other than the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard.

Criterion Welcomes You to Surf Island

Criterion Games recently decided to shed some light on their new premium content titled, Surf Island. The new island is all about big jumps. Criterion even mentions they almost called it Big Air Island. New vehicles will be launching along site Surf Island's release.

Reminder: Burnout Paradise Available on PSN Thursday

Trophy support available Thursday as well!

Criterion's ever expanding racer, Burnout Paradise, will be available for purchase starting tomorrow (Thursday). The PSN version looks to include everything released up to this point. On top of that, Trophy support is being added and will be available tomorrow.

Those who already own a hard copy and haven't downloaded the bike patch, do so now. It's free and includes some cool features such as day and night cycles.

Burnout Paradise Losing Disc, Coming to PSN

Playstation Blog has just broke the news that this fall the game Burnout Paradise will be coming to the Playstation Network for digital download. That means you don't even have to leave your favorite recliner to pick up the game.

The game will be priced at $29.99 and here is the best part, it will contain all of the DLC released thus far. That is quite the bargain, so much so that maybe GameStop will have to drop the price of the disc (one can wish).

"Here are some of the highlights. All new game modes, like Online Marked Man and Online Road Rage. Awesome new vehicles, including the Hunter Olympus and Nakamura Rai-jin Turbo. 70 all-new challenges featuring against-the-clock gameplay and leaderboards plus the in-game calendar and news page. Check the details on our website."

The Burnout team wants to revolutionize game DLC;
"We’re bringing you much more than just a couple of cars or a new track – this is the complete transformation of Burnout. That means you’ll see new game modes, new vehicles including motorcycles, day / night gameplay, weather, a huge new island play area, stacks of new challenges and maybe even aircraft!"

The next free DLC pack in line is the bike pack and it is shaping up very nicely (see images below)
"The two bikes available from Day 1 will be the FV1100 street bike and the Nakamura Firehawk V4 racing bike. With bikes, we’re introducing characters for the first time in a Burnout game. Both bikes feature designs for male and female riders. Just make your choice in the Junkyard."

So for those of you who have not picked up Burnout yet, now looks like the time. Whether you decide to go with the upcoming digital download or grab yourslef a hard copy of the game you can be assured it will be worth your money the way Criterion is supporting their game. If only all games were supported so well.
