Despite the leak that occurred a few days ago, we can now officially report that Ghostbusters: The Video Game will launch in North America on June 16th and worldwide on June 19th. The game is set to release on all major platforms (PS3, 360, Wii, DS, PS2, PC) and will follow a story set two years after Ghostbusters 2 the movie. The game will have the voice talents of the original Ghostbusters Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson. The release coincides with the release of the first Ghostbusters movie on BluRay from Sony pictures. "To further celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary milestone this year, Sony Pictures Consumer Products has licensed the property for several new commemorative products including: toys, t-shirts, comic books, prop replicas, and a theme park attraction. Good news today, two games that were being greatly anticipated until their lives were cast in doubt are back. Atari has announced today that it has picked up publishing rights to The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, and a source close to the company has stated they have picked up Ghostbusters as well. Riddick has seen a bit of a change in direction. Originally the game was set to be a remake of Escape from Butcher Bay with a few new levels, but now will be an entirely new game with a brand new story and multiplayer for the first time in the series. Riddick is set to release in 2009. Good to see that two highly anticipated games are back on track.

After much speculation and many rumors Infogrames announced that Phil Harrison is joining the company. His new appointed jobs will be pushing the company's software business into the online space and helping to re-invigorate the Atari brand.
